Tsuneji Ueda

1914 – 1987

Tsuneji Ueda was born in Kyoto in 1914 as a second son of a draper.He read a book of Kenkichi Tomimoto and then he aimed to a potter.He opened the Kinosarayama kiln after he graduated a high school and leaned about architecture through sef-study.And then he studied under Kanjirou Kawai.In 1962, he held first personal exhibition in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Department Store, Tokyo.In 1974, he designed and supervised construction Kenkichi Tomimoto Memoriak Hall.In 1987, he passed away at 95.It is said that he communicated with Muneyoshi Yanagi, Shouji Hamada and Kenkichi Tomimoto.
