Original Wooden Box
D13.5cm H8cm
A Japanese matcha tea bowl (Chawan) crafted using the signature marbled clay (Neriage) technique—a master skill passed down from his mentor, Kanjiro Kawai, and further refined by Koji Ueda. The meticulously layered clays form a delicate, rhythmic wave pattern reminiscent of quail feathers (Uzurade). Featuring a comfortable, rounded form that sits naturally in the hands, this piece beautifully balances intricate geometric precision with the quiet warmth of the Mingei movement.
