The colors of gold, indigo, and green are beautiful, as is the koshimizu. It has a wooden lid. The incense burner also comes with a cover. Monko-ro (incense burner) was originally made for "monko-ko," or enjoying the fragrance of fragrant wood at hand. The gold on the rim has been removed in places, but the rest of the piece is in good condition.

 

Ko Kiyomizu ware is a type of Kyō ware traditionally from Gojōzaka district near Kiyomizu Temple, in Kyoto. The history of Kiyomizu ware dates back to the Momoyama period. The earlier production phase is known as Ko-Kiyomizu (old Kiyomizu).
