Chikusen Miura, the 4th(4代 三浦 竹泉)

1911 (Meiji 44) – 1976 (Showa 51)

The eldest son of the second-generation Takeisen. His art name was Shigetsuan. He studied at the Kyoto College of Fine Arts, where he trained in painting, ceramics, and other arts. In 1931 (Showa 6), he succeeded the title of the fourth-generation Takeisen and began working in pottery. He primarily produced tea utensils, especially matcha bowls. His style was characterized by exquisite craftsmanship and elegance. In 1972 (Showa 47), he passed the family leadership to his eldest son, Tetsu, and retired.
