Jun Kiln / 釣窯(きんよう)

The Jun kiln refers to a historical Chinese kiln site active from the Northern Song dynasty through the Jin and Yuan dynasties. Its name comes from its location in Junzhou, present-day Henan Province. Representative wares from the Jun kiln include ceramics coated with an opaque bluish glaze known as dianqing glaze, as well as pieces featuring a purplish-red glaze created by adding copper over the dianqing base. These glazes are known for their rich, opalescent quality and subtle color variations.
