This piece was copied by Chikuken Miura from a piece produced during the Wanli period of the Ming dynasty in China. It is a bowl with a brim shaped mouth rim. The outer side of the body is inscribed "三冝庵 竹軒造”. It has a double-layered box.
Chikuken Miura
1900 – 1990
He was the youngest son of the first Chikusen Miura(*). His brother, the second Chikusen, passed away while young and his son was too young, he succeeded to the name (The third Chikusen) in 1921. After he yielded the position of the head of the family to the fourth generation in 1931, he continued his production with the go 'Chikken Miura'
(*)Chikusen Miura is a pottery and a family name of Kyo yaki (Kyoto style ceramic art, or kiyomizu-ware). The current head is the fifth generation.
