"Old Imari Vase with snow-wreath motif in underglaze blue"
D21cm H38.5cm
his large bottle has a unique snowflake pattern running from the neck to the body. Although snow is associated with winter, some summer kimonos and yukata of the Edo period (1603-1868) intentionally showed motifs reminiscent of winter, such as snow patterns, and were sometimes used as a motif to create a visual effect of coolness. A similar item is shown in the Shibata Collection Exhibition (II) in the catalog. There is a thin crazing on the body.
