A reddish tea bowl with black and carved relief patterns, named "Saiun" (Colorful Clouds) by the Urasenke Grand Master Tantansai.

 

 

RAKU Seinyu XIII

1887 - 1944

The eldest son of the twelfth Konyu. In 1919, he succeeded to the family and assumed the name of Kichizaemon. He studied the ores of various regions independently, and actively produced ceramics from various regions in addition to Raku bowls. He also worked ambitiously on figurines. At the time of his death, he received the name Seinyu from Seisai.
