A beautiful set of ten porcelain plates titled "Hakuun Yuuyuu", created by the master of modern Japanese ceramics, Kenkichi Tomimoto, around 1958.

Each plate is delicately hand-painted with abstract patterns in vivid red and cobalt blue, evoking the image of clouds drifting freely across the sky. The design reflects Tomimoto’s signature aesthetic—an elegant balance between serenity and playfulness. The understated yet expressive decoration makes these plates perfect for both everyday use and special occasions.

Based on the style of the “富” (Tomi) signature on the foot, the set is believed to have been made in 1958. All ten plates are in excellent condition, with no noticeable chips or cracks. The set includes its original wooden box (tomobako), making it ideal for collectors or as a refined gift.

1886 – 1963

Born in Nara, Tomimoto is one of the most celebrated figures in modern Japanese ceramics. He was the first to be designated a Living National Treasure and received the Order of Culture in 1955. His work is known for refined design, careful craftsmanship, and deep aesthetic sensibility.
