This celadon porcelain vase is the work of Toji Fukami, one of Japan’s most esteemed contemporary ceramic artists.

Fukami is internationally recognized for his minimalist aesthetic and the serene beauty of his celadon glazes. This vase exemplifies his signature style—its silhouette is reduced to the bare essentials, revealing an elegant balance of form and proportion. The soft, translucent glaze, with its subtle bluish hue, captures and diffuses light in a way that evokes a sense of quiet contemplation.

A distinctive feature of this piece is the pair of tiny raised dots on the body—an understated yet expressive detail that lends the work a sense of individuality and warmth. These marks are a recurring motif in Fukami’s creations, often interpreted as a quiet nod to the human presence behind the object.

Whether used functionally to hold flowers or displayed as a sculptural art object, this vase brings a sense of stillness and refined beauty to any space.
