1927 - 2015
1950 Studied under Shoji Hamada. Awarded the Japan Folk Crafts Museum Prize.
1951 Awarded the Salon du Printemps Scholarship Prize.
1952 Awarded the Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Art Exhibition.
1953: Invited by the Ryukyuan government, he traveled to Ryukyu to make ceramics.
1959 Awarded the Ceramic Society of Japan Prize.
1967 Traveled to England to study at the kilns of Bernard Leach and David Leach.
1971: Invited by recommendation to exhibit at the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition (and every other year thereafter).
1976 Invited by invitation to exhibit at the Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Art Exhibition, which traveled to Australia and New Zealand.
1983 His work was exhibited at the Folk Museum in Vienna.
