Togaku Mori

 

1937 Born in Okayama, his father was one of six traditional potters in Bizen. 

1959 Graduated from Okayama University, majoring in Special Art Depertment.

1962 Started to make pottery at his familiy kiln.

1966 Began research into Ko-Bizen (old Bizen). 

1980 Established an O-gama (great kiln) in Hyogo.

Established another O-gama measuring 53 meters in length in Gyuso, Okayama. 

1996 Became a member of the important intangible cultural assets designated by Okayama. 

2002 Won the award of the Japan Ceramic Society Gold Prize. 

2006 Awarded the Purple Ribbon Medal.

2008 Established 85-meters of long kiln named Samukaze Ogama.

2014 Finished placing pottry works in the new kiln

2015 Start firing in January, stop firing in April. Pulling out the works in July.
