Mentori (Faceting) / 面取
A decorative and shaping technique in which the curved, spherical surface of a vessel—such as jars or pots—is transformed into a faceted form. Vessels shaped on a potter’s wheel or using a rotating stand typically result in rounded, spherical bodies. By introducing flat planes onto these curved surfaces, this method adds variation and decorative interest to the overall form.
